Welcome to Convivial Gatherings
Convivial Gatherings are quarterly retreats that focus on conviviality, creativity and seasonality.
Convivial Gatherings are for people seeking meaning, creativity and time in nature, away from our often stressful, busy and technology fuelled lives.
The gatherings are designed to bring people together to build a sense of community, integrity and hope for the future.
What Are Convivial Gatherings?
Convivial Gatherings involve time out from our busy lives in a beautiful, friendly and restful environment. Connecting with nature, the weather and the seasons through creative and seasonal practices, guided walks and outdoor activities, meditation, mindfulness and imaginative ways to think positively together about the future. Participants will come together to share ideas, experiences, hopes and dreams in a gentle, open and friendly space. Every gathering ends with a celebratory seasonal meal.
The creative activities include writing, sketching, interactive art and craft making. No previous experience is required.
What Is Conviviality?
“the quality of being friendly and making people feel happy and welcome” (Cambridge Dictionary)
‘living with’ (latin translation)
‘joyful or festive activity’ (Merriam-Webster Dictionary)
The concept of convivial gatherings explore the notions of conviviality and abundance – coming together to celebrate where we are, through imaginative and creative shared experiences. These retreats have emerged from Rachel Jacobs’ nearly 30 years of award winning arts, community and research practices.
