We are now celebrating our 14th year…

Coming into this year we have some really exciting projects as well as some interesting new opportunities.

The Dark Forest project is continuing with schools workshops taking place in Nottingham and Rio, this year we will be focusing on developing a new artwork to tour as an outcome of the research project The Dark Forest – www.thedarkforest.tv

We are continuing our work developing mobile games, with our latest game now in development in Woolwich, London commissioned by Stream Arts. Players take control of a fictional  community who arrive in an imaginary place, overlayed over the Woolwich area in London.  You can play the game on the streets of Woolwich on July 24th, details to be announced.

Other projects we have been involved in include being an advisor on the exciting E-tribal project  http://www.jumeleizhi.net

Last year Active Ingredient became a partner in Mudlark . Matt and Robin have been concentrating much of their time on developing games and interactive experiences in this commercial setting, specifically Chromaroma.  We won another award for Heartlands through Mudlark… The Galileo Masters Satellite Navigation Award for UK and Ireland! We were also shortlisted for the Artists Taking the Lead (West Midlands) for our concept ‘The Human Torch’ and the Pixel Pitch Competition for the ‘Dark Forest Game’ concept.

Alongside this Rachel Jacobs has now started a PhD at the Horizon DTC which supports our ongoing work with the Mixed Reality Lab at the University of Nottingham.  Her work with Active Ingredient will now be taking place alongside her research for the PhD.
